Working both in the commercial and music video worlds collaborating with such talents as Sir Elton John, George Michael, and Rachel Stevens, Carolyn is a director who brings her unique creativity and passion to every project she works on. Her work in fashion and beauty is legendary, shooting for such brands as Pantene, Dulux, Head and Shoulders, McArthur Glenn, Moschino, Swatch, and Debenhams. Her meticulous art direction and seamless use of all types of visual effects gives her work a truly unique visual style.
After graduating Goldsmiths College at the University of London and then the Royal College of Art, Carolyn formed her own company The New Renaissance, with fellow graduate Harvey Bertram-Brown. They created fashion, costumes, window displays and sets, but it wasn’t until she directed her first commercial that Carolyn found her true calling.
The New Renaissance evolved into a directing duo, who in their first year were selected for the celebrated Saatchi & Saatchi New Director’s Showcase at Cannes and named by Campaign magazine in a feature on directors as ‘Ones to Watch.’
Since 2007 Carolyn has gone solo, working for such clients as Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Grey Worldwide, Wieden & Kennedy, Publicis and the BBC for commercials and idents, as well as George Michael, Elton John, Leanne Rimes, Girls Aloud, Emma Bunton, Bryan Ferry, Shirley Bassey and Siouxsie Sioux for music videos.
