Ian Single is a comedy commercials director who has worked on most of the country’s iconic brands – Kelloggs, Nestle, Walls, Heineken, Campari, Audi, Peugot, Persil and Tesco are just some of companies that he’s produced award winning ads for. “Were you truly wafted here from Paradise?” “Nahh Luton Airport” and “Just one Cornetto” are just two of Ian’s ads that regularly appear on the UK’s top 100.
Ian has accumulated a clutch of awards for his work including six D&ADA yellow pencils, eight silver and ten bronze Cannes Lions countless other awards and a prestigious Gold from the Art Director’s Club of New York.
He’s worked with many famous faces including Brigitte Bardot, Leonard Rossiter, Gary Lineker, Elizabeth Hurley, Peter Cooke, Steven Gerrard, Max Wall and Tommy Cooper to name a few. In fact his Tommy Cooper impersonation was heralded as the best ever by Anthony Hopkins at a Tommy Cooper Appreciation evening.
If experience counts for anything then Ian Single has this in abundance, he cites Alex Ferguson, Roy Hodgson and Harry Redknapp as formidable driving forces in an industry that is constantly looking for young talent. Ian is proud to say that he’s slightly younger than all three.
A film starring Ian Holm from a book by Ian McEwan, running and performing at the world’s biggest burlesque club are just a few of the outside interests that he pursues. And he still likes to watch fencing tournaments when he can as a former Olympic fencer.
Solely represented by MTP he is not afraid to travel.
