Tom Gentle


Tom graduated from the University of Kent School of Arts in 2012, winning the Martin Walsh prize for excellence in Film for his focus on performance and documentary inspired drama.

His debut short film, ‘Lost Girl’, won prizes at a collection of worldwide film festivals including Amsterdam Lift Off Festival. His second short ‘Blindsided’ was Runner-Up at Glasgow International Short Film Festival 2018. His latest short film ‘In The Fall’ was one of six international shorts to play Atlantic International Film Festival in Canada, and is currently nominated for Best British Film at London Short Film Festival.

He has directed and produced numerous documentaries, most recently his debut feature, ‘Uhuru’, exploring the lives of people with disabilities in Tanzania, which premiered at San Francisco Documentary Film Festival.

Tom’s key objective is to meld natural, compelling performances with a documentary style. He is passionate about and focussed on bringing an organic, spontaneous feel to all of his work.
